Daarnaast had ik een aantal jaar een praktijk in het begeleiden van kinderen èn ouders met sociaal/emotionele problematiek. Een hele mooie combinatie van de buiten- en binnenwereld. Waar ik helaas mee moest stoppen vanwege mijn steeds slechter wordende gehoor. Tegelijkertijd ervaar ik dit ook weer als een uitdaging. Om te denken in mogelijkheden.

Ik houd van lezen, films, series, muziek(concerten), lekker uit eten gaan, sporten (hardlopen!), leuke dingen doen met vrienden en ik ben vrij actief op social media. Altijd leuk om in contact te komen met nieuwe mensen! Ik ben slechthorend geboren en gaandeweg steeds slechter gaan horen. Op mijn 25e heb ik een CI gekregen.
- Implanted AgeOlder AdultHearing LossSlowly ProgressiveImplantedRightIn de afgelopen twintig jaar ging mijn gehoor steeds verder achteruit en voelde ik me langzaam maar zeker eenzaam worden. In de zomer van 2017 kreeg ik een cochleair implantaat waarmee ik weer terug ben in de horende wereld. Mijn slechthorendheid is een erfelijke kwestie en het komt bij ongeveer de helft van mijn broers en zussen voor en toch merkte ik het in het begin niet meteen dat ik ook slechter ging horen. Het was vooral mijn vrouw die me erop wees.
